Sept. 22 - Sept. 28
September 22, 2020
The night of September 21 1823, is the anniversary of Angel Moroni's visitation to the 17 year old Joseph Smith! Angel Moroni is the keeper of the golden plates (the ancient record the makes the BOM). He is the one who hid it thousands of years ago and he is the one who appeared to Joseph to tell him of this amazing record!! That night the messager from Heavenly Father showed Joseph a vision of a near by hill (the Hill Cumorah) that had these ancient record in it. Joseph went up to that hill the next day (September 22). He went year after year, on the same day, and was mentored by Angel Moroni. He did this until he was ready to be responsible for these sacred ancient records, in the year 1827, months after marrying his wife Emma. This is just the beginning story of how we got the Book of Mormon on Earth today, published in about 112 languages!
Yes we celebrated this amazing anniversary! We had a little Spirital party the night of September 21 and the next day we ran/walked from Joseph's home to the Hill Cumorah (and the back way so about 4 1/2 miles).
Ok sorry that was long but worth the read!
These past couple weeks have been amazing! At a local ice cream shop, called Chill and Grill, I ate a large ice cream (8 scoops!!!)! It was amazing and delicious!
Some of the Sisters and I desided that it was time to roll down Hill Cumorah so we did it! Well not all the way down because it's really long but I loved it!
Also I leave for St. Louis Missouri in 2 weeks to go proselyting! It will be amazing but such a different experience! Before I leave my comp and are going to do friends and family combined tour!
The Sacred Grove Will be on Wednesday the 30th at 5:30 eastern time (2:30 Oregon time and 3:30 Utah time).
The Book of Mormon Publication Site will be on Tuesday the 29th at 5:30 Eastern time (2:30 Oregon and 3:30 Utah time).
Hill Cumorah the night of September 21! It's prettier in real life
ice cream (I didn't realize they were taking a picture, I was really happy to eat the whole thing!)

This is my LAST WEEK AT THE HISTORIC SITES!!!! I am doing a family and friends final tour at 5:30 EST (2:30 Oregon Time and 3:30 Utah time) Tuesday and Wendesday! The link is at the bottom. If this time doesn't work email me and we can figure something out.
Tuesday- Book of Mormon Publication Site
Wendesday- Sacred Grove/Smith Farm
This is so weird! I am not going home early, no matter what my Bishop thinks. (Lol)
FUNNY STORY
When I opened it in January I read- you are here by called to the Missouri St Louis Mission. I stopped reading. A few minutes go by and my dad was reading it, until he told me that there was more to my call! There was a small note that claimed that my first 4 months would be assigned to the church historic sites in New York and Pennsylvania! So you can say that I had 2 calls before it was cool. So my time here is almost up and the church has my end date for the historic sites on the mission portal as my mission end date. My Bishop called my mom asking what was wrong and everything like that, because he saw that my "end date" was October 6, 2020! So no I am not going home just ending this part of my mission to go to my next part. Also apparently my records are lost? Several family members got emails from the church asking if they knew where I was because they didn't know where to send my church records! Fun times when I am not assigned to a ward and testing a new idea for the historic sites!
FAMOUS-
Long story short we helped with this big event that went on with several sisters around the country all talking about the life of Joseph Smith (the Prophet of the Restoration of the Fulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ)!
This huge virtual tour happened 4 times! It has never been done before and we dont know if it ever will be done again but it was amazing while it lasted! We dont have the numbers quite yet but for the first tour alone it was about 835 people!! So 835 ×4 = 3340
That is so crazy! And that is just in one day so needless to say I am famous!
SPIRITUAL-
There is so much to say about these amazing historical sites! Serving here has taught me a lot about myself, history, why we care about history, the Restoration of the church, Joseph Smith, the Book of Mormon, and most importantly it has helped me learn and hopefully become more like our Savoir Jesus Christ! There is literally to much to put in here so if you want to know more, email me or ask me about it someday.
BEST Mission ever!
This week I have had the opportunity to give a tour to Mt. View Relief Society (a ward in my home stake!)
Also gave a tour to Natalie Stevens and one of her friends (investigators)! I love how I have been able to see some of my family and friends more because of these virtual tours!!!
1- all of the AMAZING sites on that huge tour!
2- all of the Sisters left here at the sites who all leave in a week (some of my best friends for ever!!)
3- Palmyra Temple pictures on the Smith Farm
4- my GORGEOUS COMP (Sister Clarke) and I in the Sacred Grove
